Elephant Hawk - Moth

Thank you Sal and Sharon who came to my rescue and identified last night's beautiful visitor.

It is an Elephant Hawk- Moth.

A very good description of it and it's life cycle can be found at http://www.uksafari.com/elephanthm.htm

How lucky you are to have friends who can do the identifying. I see they eat fushias. Do you have some of those in our garden? I love them, but too hot where I live.

Beautiful. I suspect many people would run a mile from a moth that size but I love them.
